Mortgage Addendum
Effective October 2, 2026. This addendum adds to the Territory Press Subscription Terms (v1.1). It does not change anything for real estate letters.
1. Who this applies to
This addendum applies when you buy a Mortgage letter (a letter for a loan officer or mortgage company). The Subscription Terms still apply. If this addendum and the Subscription Terms conflict on a Mortgage letter, this addendum controls.
1a. Who can buy
For now, we can't offer the Mortgage letter to loan officers of CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC (NMLS 3029). If we find out after you sign up that you work for CrossCountry Mortgage, we will cancel and refund you in full. Email hello@territorypress.com with questions.
2. You are the advertiser
Your letter is your own advertisement for your mortgage business. You send it, and you are responsible for making sure it follows the laws that apply to you and your company's own policies. That includes the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, the Mortgage Acts and Practices Advertising Rule (Regulation N), the SAFE Act and your state licensing rules, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act and CAN-SPAM. Territory Press writes general market content. It does not give legal or compliance advice.
3. No rates or loan terms
We do not put interest rates, APRs, payments, down payments, loan terms, fees or loan offers in your letter. If you add any of these to an issue, you must add the disclosures the law requires, and that is your responsibility, not ours.
4. Your license information
- You will give us, and keep accurate, your name and NMLS ID, your company name and NMLS ID, your California license statement and number (or your federal registration), and the fair housing statement your company uses. We print them in every issue with a link to NMLS Consumer Access.
- You must be licensed or registered, and active, the whole time you send your letter. Tell us within 5 business days if any of this changes, lapses or is suspended. We pause your issues until it is fixed.
- We may check your license on NMLS Consumer Access, and we may pause issues if we cannot confirm it.
5. Company approval and records
If your company requires marketing or compliance approval, get it before you send. Keep a copy of each issue you send for at least 24 months (Regulation N, 12 CFR 1014.5). We also keep a copy of each issue we prepare for you for at least 24 months.
6. No payment for referrals
Your fee pays for the newsletter service only, at the same published price every subscriber pays. It is not a payment for referrals. Territory Press does not refer borrowers to you, and no subscriber can pay to appear in, or be recommended in, another subscriber's letter. Ryan Hansen, who owns Territory Press, is also a real estate agent and works with lenders of his own choosing. Your subscription does not get you referrals from him or from Territory Press.
7. Borrower and customer data
Your borrower and client lists stay in your own email platform. We do not accept list uploads for Mortgage letters. If you give us access to your email platform so we can set up drafts, we act as your service provider: we use that access only to prepare your issues, we keep what we see confidential, and we do not share it. If your company needs a vendor or service provider agreement (for example under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or the FTC Safeguards Rule), email hello@territorypress.com.
8. Privacy note
For Mortgage letters we also collect your NMLS IDs, company name, license type and license number. This is public licensing information. We use it to print your footer and to check your license. Everything else in the Privacy Policy applies the same way.
